Where To Eat in Texas

Texas is MASSIVE! I couldn’t believe it. My husband and I took a road trip starting in Arizona all the way to Georgia, needless to say, we were in the car for a good chunk of time. For this road trip, we decided to stop in El Paso, San Antonio, Houston and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

  • Love a good bagel sandwich 🤤

I always go with the classic bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.

The Hot Bagel Shop in Houston has it all! I was so tempted to get more bagels but my stomach can only fit so much food (unfortunately)

They have jalapeño cheese kolaches (which I really wanted), lox, strawberry bagels, supreme bagels and way more.

We highly recommend checking this place out if you’re ever in Houston.
  • Love ice cream sandwiches. This one is from @littlecakeswithbigattitude 🤤 they didn’t have the coconut pecan cookies that I wanted but this was great regardless 🙌🏼
  • Wishing we were having a lazy morning visiting cute coffee places 😪

@thebekeryllc baked goods are freshly baked every morning. This is one of my favorite spots in Lake Charles🥰
  • My favorite restaurant in our tiny little town so far @the.jamaicanspot . I usually order curry chicken, peas and rice, & steamed cabbage.

I called it rice and red beans and that’s not what it is LOL
Honestly I don’t think I’ve ordered from a Jamaican restaurant before moving here 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • 🎉No more student loan debt!🎉

Yesterday we made our final student loan payment!

I am SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED about this! I cannot believe we finally finished with our (really my) student loans.

Here are my top tips:

💫 BUDGET! Tell your money where to go! I had the worst habit of “out of sight, out of mind” when it came to finances. I hated looking at my bank account because I knew I was spending money like crazy. Once you start budgeting then you know what you’re actually spending your money on. And then you can tackle your debt. Make your money work for you!

💫 HAVE AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER. Being married is awesome because Jacob keeps me in check lmao. I love buying nice quality items and it’s just hard to budget/live below your means when you want to buy everything. Having someone to talk to and just double check if items are needs or wants is great. If you’re not married make sure you have a friend/family member that will help you along the way! If you can’t find someone then I am here! I will no doubt help you and be your cheerleader.

💫 LIVE BELOW YOUR MEANS! If you’ve been following me for a while then you know we love to eat. So that’s our biggest expense. This is why having an accountability partner is important. I want the nicest items from everywhere, especially furniture. Unfortunately we can’t have the things I want just yet, but soon we’ll be completely debt free which is amazing.

💫 AND FINALLY, YOU HAVE TO WORK! Paying off debt isn’t going to happen overnight, it’s going to be hard & you’re going to be frustrated! But it is okay! Not being a slave to lenders is attainable and you can definitely do it!
