My mom was the first person to introduce me to ginger, she is absolutely in love with these little ginger chew candies and I’ve tried one before but never really liked it. How is there a candy that is sweet but also spicy?! Who likes things like that? But that was a couple years ago, recently my mother and I went to Trader Joe’s and she made me run back in and buy her the ginger chews and so I decided to try them again. They are so spicy, still! But strangely my taste has changed and I liked it, actually I loved it. What an interesting taste it has! I decided to buy my own ginger and come up with tons of different uses for it.
The first thing I decided to make was a ginger tea, it was simple and delightful.
And this is how I made it:
- Cut up some ginger and place in the bottle of your container
- Boil some water
- Pour the water on top of the ginger
- Stir in honey and sugaaaaaa
- Cover the container
For my sister and I loved the tea, it was nice and warming. This tea is simple and I’m pretty sure that I’ll make better teas in the future but for my first try I was pleased.
I started that tea on Sunday and I’ve tried to incorporate ginger into my day since. It has wonderful benefits, it’s mindboggling that we don’t use ginger in our lives more.
So I’ve been making up different ginger shots, drinks and smoothies.
My first shot:
- Green apple
It was good but on the next day I tried something else.
Absolutely wonderful! Pineapple and ginger is soooooo good together.
And then today I tried
So good! I don’t know if the ginger has been making my days better or I’m just tricking my mind into thinking that the ginger is making my days better. But I’m going to continue to try different ways to incorporate ginger into my life.
