Antique markets: My New Found Love

Antique markets: My New Found Love

Hello, I hope you guys are having a great day so far!

I want to share with you all my new found love….. antique markets. I have always gone to these places and hated them. Growing up my mother would drag me to thrift shops, antique shops and everything in between. I thought they were all dirty and smelly. I just never understood the appeal!

But, I guess I just grew up and now I love them! They’re so exciting, you never know what you’ll find. Lately I have been looking for dishes, many places will have dish sets of 30+ pieces (seriously, that’s a lot) for such a good price.

Let me tell you, I love Crate & Barrel, I think all of their items are so nice. I would love for my house to be to be decorated head to toe with all their stuff BUT who has the money for all of that??

I’m going for the Crate & Barrel look without the price!

If you’ve never been to one of these places, they’re usually separated by “shops”. People will rent out a section and sell their stuff in their space. The prices are placed by the owner of the shop and you go to the front (or wherever) and pay. It’s super easy.

Two Antique malls that I am loving right now are:

Joey’s Thrift Mall in Columbus, GA

This place is huge and they have the best prices. I was going crazy wanting to buy everything (I think I was driving Jacob crazy also). But we’re both so excited to live together and buy stuff for our house so it’s okay. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area, right now it’s my favorite that I’ve been to.

Riverfront Antique Mall in North Augusta, SC

This place is awesome because it just has SO MUCH! The prices are a little bit more expensive than the first one I mentioned, but overall these prices are so much better than buying them new. I haven’t bought anything here… yet, because I didn’t go with Jacob and I want us to agree on dishes for our house.

I love these places because each item has a history to them. Even if I don’t know that history I know that “this plate used to serve a family and now it’s serving my family”. I may be the only one that feels like this but it’s pretty cool.

If you know of any markets like these feel free to share!
