Happi Foodi: A Review

I just want to let you all know that this post contains affiliate links.

Welcome to an honest review of the line Happi Foodi.

At the end of this post you could have sign up for a free snack box, check it out below.

My favorite thing is trying new foods, so when Happi Foodi reached out to me with BOGO coupons I was excited. They have a lot of options such as arepas, oatmeal, mac & cheese and ramen. Happi Foodi is owned by WaffleWaffle which makes ‘on-the-go’ waffles. They decided to launch the line, Happi Foodi in 2018, striving to provide real food with ‘restaurant-quality’ ingredients. They have the quote, “Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness” on their website, which I thoroughly believe in.

Unfortunately, the local walmart near me only had their barbacoa mac & please and their whisky flavored saucy meatballs. With the BOGO coupon it was $4.98 for both.

My siblings ate the meatballs without me and their review of those include:

“The meatballs tasted like they were burnt, it didn’t taste like real meat. They were bland and had no flavor.”

Ouch, when I heard this I was so hurt! But I didn’t give up, their “mac & please” had to be good, right?

Unfortunately, no…..

According to the instructions, you’re supposed to lay the bag down in the microwave and cook for 8:30 minutes. This is a red flag for me. I didn’t realize that it was a microwave dish, I was assuming that I would put it into a pan to cook over the stove top, but I just went with the flow. After it cooked, I poured it into a bowl. It didn’t look too bad, the peppers looked vibrant which I liked and it smelled decent. Upon tasting it I was highly disappointed, it tasted like the freezer. This taste might have derived from the fact that they have “vents” on their bags which help the consumer to be able to microwave it.  I took one bite and just couldn’t do it. My brother had a few more bites than I did but we had to throw it out. I hate throwing food away. I always feel so guilty but no one was going to eat this. It was too spicy without any depth of flavor and too salty.

I had high hopes for Happi Foodi and I was pretty excited to try their product. I’m still willing to try their arepas though. I love how Happi Foodi reaches out to give out BOGO coupons, they seem like they have an awesome business, in my opinion they might need to work on their flavors.

I urge you to try this for yourself if you’re curious. Everyone has different tastes, this just wasn’t for me. I strive to provide honest reviews and I have seen good reviews of some of Happi Foodie’s products which I have not tried.

(Jacob and I do want to try the waffles! I have never seen them until I started to actively look for them, we’re on the look out for their birthday cake flavor).
