Apple Cider Vinegar vs Deodorant

A couple of months ago when my deodorant ran out… I didn’t go buy more. So I haven’t bought deodorant in months. I know what you’re probably thinking, that I’m gross and blah blah blah. But as you guys know I have been trying to get rid of products that contain so much unnecessary junk in it and deodorant is one of those products.

When I was younger I always loved going to the store and buying different scented deodorants, I thought it was amazing that your armpits could smell like passion fruit, rain forest and etc. But that love has gone away and I couldn’t care less about what different smells there are. For weeks I went without putting anything on my armpits besides cleaning them with soap and water when I showered. But honestly I needed to do something else. I love my own natural smell and it doesn’t bother me but I wasn’t feeling other people smelling me like that. Once again Apple Cider Vinegar has proved to be useful for something else. This vinegar is a gift from heaven, it does wonders for most things. In my house there are two bottles, one in the bathroom and one in the fridge. I highly recommend you guys do this too.

So now every other day I take a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar and just clean my armpits with it after I shower. I only do it every other day because that’s what works for my body. Doctors say that since your armpits get wet once in a while it is the perfect environment for bacteria to grow and this vinegar is great at killing it.

I urge you guys to do this! I’m not sure how it’ll work for you but I love it. Let me know if you guys try it out and how it went!

Parsley Tea and Your Menstrual Cycle

So a while ago I heard about parsley tea and what it does to your body. To put it short helps to induce menstruation, seriously who would want that? I read a blog about it and thought it was ridiculous, why would anyone want the pain and blood flow that comes with this terrible curse? Well a week ago my menstruation cycle was starting, my breasts started to swell and it was very uncomfortable. Just so you guys know, my breasts are very small, I’m borderline flat-chested and honestly I love it. I love not having to wear a bra, being able to run without fat bouncing up and down on my chest and being able to sleep on my stomach without being uncomfortable. This time when my menstruation cycle started my breasts were extremely full and I couldn’t even touch them without wincing in pain. It was horrible! My siblings and I are very touchy, in the sense were always punching or tackling each other and this week my sister has probably punch a breast about 20 times and it hurt like hell. I was tired of it, it was day 3 and my period still didn’t start. So remembering the blog post I read about 5 months ago I was like “omg parsley tea will help get my period started” So I researched it and read blog after blog and experience after experience. Several people said the parsley tea didn’t do anything for them and I was a little discouraged. But I decided to do it anyway.

Step one:

  • Go to your local grocery store or your garden and grab a bunch of parsley.

Step two:

  • Boil water

Step three:

  • Set your boiled water aside, the water should not be boiling hot when it comes in contact with the parsley BUT should be really hot.

Step four:

  • Get a mug and fill your cup with a handful of clean parsley. (I used curly Italian parsley because that’s what was available to me). Pour your hot warm over the parsley to let it steep.

Step five:

  • Be patient! Wait about 20 minutes.

Step six:

  • DRINK THE TEA

Reading about this tea a lot of people have said that it made them gag and they couldn’t drink it. But I really like parsley and the flavor of it so it was pleasant for me. I was kinda doubtful that this would do anything for me. About 30 minutes after I drank it I contemplated making another cup but I decided against it and just waited instead. Thank God I did because literally an hour after drinking the tea I started feeling cramps. I kept thinking maybe this is in my head and I’m imagining it but oh boy those cramps started to come hard. I began regretting my decision to take this tea and I even apologized to God for me not trusting that my period would come in due time. (Hahaha, I get delusional when I start feeling the wrath of my uterus). So all day I felt cramps but I didn’t start bleeding until the next day.

I was thinking about why others didn’t feel anything because only within an hour I started feeling cramps, that’s crazy! Honestly my body is extremely sensitive with most things including alcohol and medicine so it’s really no surprise to me that I got this reaction. I did this tea because I really hated the feeling of pain that my breasts were giving me and I wanted to get it over with and I’m happy that I did it. I’m a firm believer that herbs, vegetables, fruits, basically all natural items can do a lot for your body and this just further proves that. You don’t need to buy fancy teas and medicine, all you need is Google really haha. Research what you need and how to do it naturally. At least give it a try and if it doesn’t work then at least you learned something new.

Disclaimer: DO NOT DO THIS TEA IF YOU ARE PREGNANT

Have a great Monday

Oil Pulling

Honey and Winston

Before I start this post I’d just like to clear up that I am not, nor do I claim to be a naturopath or medical professional of any kind blah blah blah.

A few months ago I started to notice that my skin was breaking out more often, my teeth weren’t very white and my complexion was less than average to say the least. To put it nicely, I looked sick. All the freaking time! So after flicking through mindbodygreen.com I stumbled across a post about Oil Pulling. Confused as hell and extremely intrigued, I clicked in and continued reading. Turns out, oil pulling is a natural remedy for all of the problems I was having and more!

coconut oil

How to oil pull:
1. Put a few table spoons (depends on the size of your mouth I guess but I use about 2) of coconut oil in your mouth.
2. Swish…
