So a while ago I heard about parsley tea and what it does to your body. To put it short helps to induce menstruation, seriously who would want that? I read a blog about it and thought it was ridiculous, why would anyone want the pain and blood flow that comes with this terrible curse? Well a week ago my menstruation cycle was starting, my breasts started to swell and it was very uncomfortable. Just so you guys know, my breasts are very small, I’m borderline flat-chested and honestly I love it. I love not having to wear a bra, being able to run without fat bouncing up and down on my chest and being able to sleep on my stomach without being uncomfortable. This time when my menstruation cycle started my breasts were extremely full and I couldn’t even touch them without wincing in pain. It was horrible! My siblings and I are very touchy, in the sense were always punching or tackling each other and this week my sister has probably punch a breast about 20 times and it hurt like hell. I was tired of it, it was day 3 and my period still didn’t start. So remembering the blog post I read about 5 months ago I was like “omg parsley tea will help get my period started” So I researched it and read blog after blog and experience after experience. Several people said the parsley tea didn’t do anything for them and I was a little discouraged. But I decided to do it anyway.
- 1 tablespoon of Honey
- 1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar
- Juice of 1/4 Lemon
It’s really simple, you just mix them in a bowl and scrub it on your face for about 5 minutes. You’ll feel the honey moisturize your face and the brown sugar scrub the dirt and oil away. It honestly feels better than the facial products you buy in the store (at least for me). After this I rinse with cold water and I pat my face dry then after a couple of minutes I moisturize with coconut oil.
It’s so simple and takes just a couple minutes of your time. I hope you guys like this and if you do anything else I’d love to hear about it, so share!
Have a great Friday
I’ve had black bean burgers from other places and for the most part they were just okay. (Except the black bean burger at Pride & Joy in Wynwood, South Florida they have amazing black bean burgers!) The beauty of cooking at home is that you can tweak anything to your liking and that’s exactly what I did.
- Sweet potato, I used frozen fries but you can use fresh sweet potato
- 1 can of black beans (15 oz) rinsed and drained
- Onion ( I used less than 1/4 of an onion)
- 1/2 of a green bell pepper
- Coconut Oil
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Indian Healing Clay
- Ezekiel Bread
About a year ago I went to a simple gynecologist visit and I was informed that I had a cyst , caused from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I kind of felt like something was wrong with me in that area (your body will let you know when something is off, you just have to listen to it) I wasn’t surprised when she told me this news but I was frightened. She immediately recommended that I get on birth control, I declined her offer. I have heard tons of stories about how birth control changes your body and it just didn’t sound appealing to me.
Quick little background story about me:
When I was in kindergarten, (I remember this specifically) it was the day after Halloween in the morning and my older brothers friend came over with his candy and we all started eating the candy. Just my luck I got a candy similar to a jaw breaker stuck in my throat! I was terrified, my brother woke up my parents and they helped me get it out of my throat. But I am absolutely convinced that this event is the reason why it is very difficult for me to swallow pills. Along with this difficulty, I don’t like taking medicine when I’m sick, I’d rather my body heal itself.
So taking birth control pills did not sound appealing to me at all. After I finished with the doctors, I looked up ways to get rid of PCOS naturally and the causes of this syndrome.
What I found:
Many doctors say that there isn’t one specific reason as to why someone would have PCOS but there are some things that might cause it.
So I washed and cut the ends of the Zucchini and twisted it through the spiralizer and with the end product I added:
- A tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
- A tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- A pinch of salt
- Couple of pine nuts
- Chopped tomatoes
And with the Shrimp I put it in a pan with:
It’s Monday I have no classes or work, so what do I do? Everything BESIDES studying… It sucks and I’ll regret it when I don’t see an A on my exam BUT I had a beautiful day! I went to Living color garden center which is about 3 minutes away from my house and I explored. I didn’t go knowing what I wanted to buy I just knew I wanted something. And what I got made me so happy.
This place is gorgeous, there are beautiful flowers everywhere and it was literally the most perfect day to surround yourself with flowers. I was in love with all of the flowers and wanted to take every single plant home, but I couldn’t, I had to settle for just a few.
- 2 Marigolds
- Orange Mint
- Lemon basil
- And new gardening gloves!
When I actually write it out it doesn’t sound like a lot and I wish I got more, oh well.
The lemon basil and the orange mint smell so wonderful, amazing, the best. I wanted to buy some jalapeno and tomato plants but I already started growing my own so I didn’t want to cheat and get more plants.
My tomato plants are roughly 2 months old and they are growing rapidly while I’m growing impatient. I want to see little tomatoes growing immediately.
They are beautiful and they smell divine.
These are just the plants I bought.
And these I’m not quite sure what they are, when I made my first raised garden bed I neglected to label the plants, so I won’t really know what they are until they begin to produce their little veggies.
And my gorgeous gerbera daisies 😀 These are the highlight of my room, they are so beautiful and they brighten my day. I’m looking for more flowers to put indoors, I currently have these daisies and orchids on my window sill, but I’m becoming so obsessed with flowers and plants I just want more.
Well, happy finals week and happy Tuesday night
After I cut up my pumpkin, which seems like months ago, I decided to use it for something that I’ve never made before….. gnocchi!
Gnocchi is like an Italian dumpling, it is absolutely delicious, if done correctly. So I googled pumpkin gnocchi and I came across a couple recipes that got me excited. You could make some with potato, some with walnuts or garlic but I decided to go simple, my ingredients went as follows:
Whenever I go to school I grab myself a copy of The New York Times, one of my favorite games to play that is in the newspaper is Ken Ken which is a pretty cool number game that kind of gets me frustrated but is fun. Over the past couple of weeks I have accumulated a lot of newspapers and I don’t want to just throw them away so I googled some different ways I could use them and I came across newspaper pots! Why didn’t I think of this before?! Well I purchased tons of seeds from Seeds Now and I haven’t planted them all so I decided to make a newspaper pot and get some plants started in those on my window sill.
This is very easy and simple, gardening doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult, just requires patience and creativity.
I’ve been having trouble growing my lavender seeds, I’ve tried planting them twice outside so I decided to plant them inside and see if that changes anything, I also read that lavender likes dry soil so it’s good to mix the soil with sand. Hopefully this works for me. This is my second newspaper pot, the first one I made I planted summer bibb lettuce and they are growing so nicely.
Literally the first thing I do in the morning is look at my plants and see how much they’ve grown, they give me so much joy, it’s so nice to see them blossom out of nothing!
Happy Saturday <3
So I have some great news! I created a raised garden bed! Yesterday I mentioned to my dad about how I could create my own raised garden bed and there are tonssss of ways that you can accomplish this. My dad came up with a cheap way to do this. So all you’ll need is:
