I have taken a tiny hiatus because I was spending some quality time with my fiance (it was amazing). But now school is starting back up and it’s time to get back into the rhythm of things.
Now, I’m not one to make resolutions but there are some things that I have been wanting to change in my life and I’m going to share those with you!
Read a book a month
When I write it down or say it out loud it doesn’t really sound like much of anything, but it is. My fiance has this amazing ability to read through so many books and honestly, I’m jealous. I used to be that little girl in elementary/middle school that had the biggest & heaviest book bag because it was filled with books. But that’s just not the case anymore. My room is still filled with books, but now it takes me so long to get through them. Now I am determined to finish one book a month. For January I am starting with Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer. I’ll let you guys know how it is in Feburary!
Go to more fitness classes
Thankfully, I have access to free gyms and free fitness classes and I haven’t taken advantage of them. So for 2019, I want to get into shape and be the best that I can be physically. So classes that I will be attending with be TurboKick, Cycling and yoga!
Maintain control of the food I eat
This one is hard for me, I love to eat…. EVERYTHING. But it is important to me to eat foods that are good for my body. So my fiance and I have eliminated bread (except sourdough), dairy, alcohol and desserts. So we are loving sourdough bread and eggs right now.
I hope you all have an amazing New Year and if you have any resolution type ideas for this year feel free to share!
Currently Jacob and I are working on a semi-long distance relationship, given, we do see each other on the weekends, but even that is difficult. It’s really hard, at least for me, to go on throughout the week without him. But we have come up with some ways to stay connected throughout this distance and I’m going to share them with you!
This is an obvious one but I think it still needs to be addressed. Jacob and I call each other every chance we get. Waking up in the morning, on our way to work, during our breaks, leaving work and we ensure we have FaceTime dates at night. Honestly, sometimes this can be just a tad bit annoying. For example, I might get busy with something and start stressing out and answering the phone isn’t really something I want to do, BUT after our phone calls I always feel so much better. They are definitely worth it.
When Jacob and I cannot talk over the phone I leave audio messages and he always receives a lot of those! I have learned that audio messages are extremely beneficial to both our relationship but also for me. It’s like a diary, I tell him what I’m thinking, what has happened to me and everything in between. It is very therapeutic.
This is definitely the most important one. I think it is extremely important that Jacob and I push each other to be better Christians and do devotionals together. So at the end of our FaceTime dates, before we say goodnight, I bring out my devotion journal and my nightstand Bible. We read the devotion and reflect on what the message was. I think this is crucial to being closer and maintaining our relationship.
Semi-long distance is not fun, I will be the first to say it, but it’s important to work through it and put in a lot of effort!
If you have any tips or advice I would love to hear all about it!
Just so you guys are updated, I finally bought my wedding dress! Given, I wasn’t really looking for a dress, it just happened!
I was beyond ecstatic! But this post is all about the maid of honor proposal. My sister is my maid of honor and she told me “You have to ask me to be your maid of honor in a cute way”, and honestly I didn’t want to! She already knew she was going to take that role so why do it? But being the loving, kind person I am I decided to do it anyway and I also don’t want to miss out on all things wedding!
Also, not pictured was a balloon that said “I donut know what I’d do without you” and had pictures of donuts, of course.
The box and tissue paper were from Michael’s, it was the easiest thing to put together. She loved it and I loved it also because I didn’t just go out and buy a proposal box. It means more to me that I’m actually doing wedding stuff myself.
If you have any wedding tips and advice I’d love to hear all about it!
The great thing about my life right now (besides being engaged and blessed beyond measure) is that I went from working full time to working part time! Yes, there is a side of me that is freaking out because I have so much free time now but, let me tell you, I can relax, focus on school and really take care of myself.
And that is where this Indian Healing Clay comes in. This stuff is amazing! It is so easy to use and it gets rid of everything that has been building up on your face. Let me give credit where credit is due, shout out to my sister in law who put me on to this clay a couple of years ago!
A small plastic bowl
A plastic spoon
Apple cider vinegar
**** Make sure you are not using metal, the clay reacts to it! ****
How I usually do it is I put 1/4 teaspoon of the clay into my bowl and add in the vinegar drop by drop. The vinegar reacts with the clay immediately so you have to just give it a little time before you add in more. Once it’s all mixed I apply a thick layer to my face and just wait for it to dry. You will definitely feel this mask working, your skin WILL be pulsating. You won’t be able to talk because your skin is so tight but wow the results are amazing! My face is always blotchy after washing the mask off so make sure you’re not doing this an hour before you have to be somewhere. You’re skin will feel so clean and fresh after this mask, it is currently the only one I use! Once my face is dry I moisturize with just a little coconut oil and then I just bask in the amazingness that is my new skin!
This is a must buy, simply click the picture below! You will not regret it.
If you try it out or have any comments let me know, I’d love to hear about it!
This past weekend Jacob and I took our engagement photos and let me tell you, I was stressing out! Finding outfits and coordinating is nerve-racking. I wanted it to be perfect and I was trying to control everything. But let me share with you some of the photos so you can see how amazing they turned out!
